Super Over Movie Plot

Kaasi (Naveen Chandra), Madhu (Chandini Chowdary), and Vasu (Rakendu Mouli) are childhood friends. Kaasi prepares to go abroad but is fooled by a travel consultant.

The debt for his abroad programs, for which he placed his house as collateral, has to be repaid. To make money, Kaasi jumps bets on cricket matches and he succeeds ₹1.7 crores.

Critical Reception

Sangeetha Devi noting for The Hindu said: “Super Over doesn’t tap its potential of being an edge-of-the-seat thriller but is a well-packaged thriller.” Sakshi critic Rentala Jayadeva enjoyed the screenplay and direction for its novelty, in addition to the performances.

Bhavenesh Chander of The New Indian Express sensed that the narration managed to slow down as the movie progressed. Inspecting the climax, Chander noted, “Super overs are suggested to yield an outcome. However, Super Over concludes with a cliffhanger. The penultimate is even not fulfilling.”

A reviewer from 123telugu noted, “On the whole, Super Over is a crime thriller that is worthy with its narration part. Though the movie has a few unconvincing episodes and foul speech at frequent intervals, regarding the OTT release, the film ends up as a watchable fare for its thrills and stylized execution.”

Film Companion’s Vishal Menon noted, “Look beyond a long initial stretch of amateur script and you obtain a nighttime thriller that’s surprisingly entertaining.”
