Saaho is an Indian Telugu-language action thriller film released in 2019 by Sujeeth, produced by UV Creations and T-Series.
The movie was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages, with Saaho actor Prabhas in the title role, and an ensemble cast of Shraddha Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Arun Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Murali Sharma, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Prakash Belawadi, Tinnu Anand, Evelyn Sharma, Supreeth, Devan and Vennela Kishore.
It is the Hindi movie debut of Prabhas and the Telugu movie debut of Shraddha Kapoor. The movie follows two undercover officers, exploring for a robber who has robbed ₹2,000 crore (US$284 million). They shortly discover the case is connected to the death of a prominent business tycoon and an emerging gang war for the control of a megalopolis.
The principal photography for Saaho started in the date of August 2017. The movie’s filming took place in India, UAE, Romania and Austria. T-Series bought and released the film’s soundtrack.
Saaho was released in India in regular and IMAX theatres on 30 August 2019. The movie received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, who commended the cast performances, action sequences, VFX, and cinematography, but blamed the writing, direction, and runtime.
Saaho made more than ₹419 crore (US$59.5 million)–₹439 crore (US$62.34 million) worldwide against its funding of ₹325 crore. The movie was an above-average grosser at the box office while the Hindi version was a commercial hit.

A man employs an arsenal of weapons to fight a gang of heavily armed thugs in the city. With the city under fire and people’s lives at risk, one man has to share everything to carry the city back.

Critical Reception
Saaho got mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, who applauded Prabhas’s acting, cinematography, action sequences, and visual effects, but slammed its length, screenplay, and direction. The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes mentioned an approval rating of 8% based on 12 reviews with an average rating of 3.8/10.
Anupama Chopra of Film Companion said: “I understand that a popcorn entertainer like Saaho isn’t guided by logic or coherence. And I would have completed peace with it if the movie had a good time. My most significant criticism is that it’s a crashing bore. A lot of hard work has driven into making the action and the extravagant sets. The funding is a mentioned to be 350 crores but for the viewer, there’s a little bang for the buck.”
Lakshana N Palat from India Today rated the movie Saaho 1.5/5 stars, noting it “a 350-crore disaster”, and a “labored and exhausting watch”. She has added; “the provident grace of Saaho are the visuals and the high-octane action sequences”, and that “the creators got so carried away with crafting action scenes and Prabhas’ starry fact that they ignore about the story and character development midway”.
Composing for The Times of India for the Tamil version, Thinkal Menon gave the movie Saaho 2.5/5 stars, heralding the technical elements but blaming the script. Menon noted the movie was “largely dubbed in Tamil, leading to lip-sync issues”.
Taran Adarsh rated the movie 1.5/5 stars, noting on its “weak story, confusing screenplay, and amateur direction”.
A reviewer for Bollywood Hungama rated Saaho two2.5/5 stars, expressing it “suffers from a lazy script and a vacuous screenplay”.
Rajeev Masand of News18 rated the movie 1.5/5 stars; he honored Prabhas for his “enormous presence and unmistakable sincerity” but said the movie has “all the depth and emotional wallop of a video game”.
Saaho Telugu Movie 2019 Songs Collection
The songs in Saaho were written by Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa, Badshah, and Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. The lyrics were composed by Krishna Kanth and Sreejo in Telugu, Tanishk Bagchi, MellowD, Guru Randhawa, Badshah, and Manoj Yadav in Hindi. A bonus track Bang Bang (Saaho Bang) was released after the film’s release.
