PK Hindi Movie is an Indian Hindi-language science fiction satirical comedy-drama film released in 2014 edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and composed by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi and together produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the production banners of Rajkumar Hirani movies and Vinod Chopra Films, respectively.
The movie stars an ensemble of actors of Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla, and Sanjay Dutt.
After the hit of 3 Idiots (2009), Hirani and Joshi began scripting their following project; finding similarities with the story of Inception (2010), they dumped the movie. It was later rewritten with a various perception and tone. During production, the movie was originally titled Talli and later Ek Tha Talli before being switched to PK as the latter title was discovered to be too identical to Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
The film’s soundtrack was written by Shantanu Moitra, Ajay–Atul, and Ankit Tiwari with lyrics composed by Swanand Kirkire, Amitabh Varma, and Manoj Muntashir. UTV Motion Pictures obtained the distribution rights to the movie. PK was the first Bollywood movie to be filmed in Belgium.
PK was published theoretically on the date of 19 December 2014. Upon release, it received positive reviews, praising Khan’s performance and the film’s humor. The movie got 8 nominations at the 60th Filmfare Awards, winning two. Also, it won five Producers Guild Film Awards and two Screen Awards. PK garnered the Telstra People’s Choice Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
The movie was produced with a funding of ₹1.22 billion, PK was the first Indian movie to gross over ₹7 billion and US$100 million worldwide. At its release, it appeared as the highest-grossing Indian movie of all time. The film’s final worldwide gross was ₹769.89 crore (US$118.92 million). It presently stands as the tenth highest-grossing Indian movie worldwide and the seventh highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time.
PK Hindi Movie 2014 Plot
An alien arrives in the city in Spaceship, and he starts asking questions no one has asked before. Known simply by his initials, the man’s innocent questions and childlike interest take him on a journey of love, laughter, and letting go.

Critical Reception
Srijana Mitra Das of The Times of India rated the film 4 stars out of 5. Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN rated the movie 3.5 stars citing”It’s a bold movie that sticks to Hirani’s well-oiled formula”.
NDTV presented 5 stars anointing it “PK is a winner all the way, a movie that Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, and Guru Dutt would have been proud of had they been busy. Hirani is without a mistrust their most excellent standard-bearer.”
Bollywood Hungama explained it as “a solid entertainer that will certainly delight the masses and classes alike” and rated the movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Raja Sen of Rediff.com rated PK 4 out of 5 stars and named it “a sensation” and claimed that Khan “soars are high”.
However, Sukanya Verma of the same publication anointed the movie “a diverse bag of spirit and sentimentality”, while still rating it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times rated 4 out of 5 stars and said “Khan loots the show with his acting”.
Rohit Khilnani of India Today rated 4.5 stars, and said “Go see the movie & observe it ASAP!” Edmund Lee of South China Morning Post rated PK 3.5 stars. In Japan, Yuri Wakabayashi of Eiga rated the movie a positive review in the year 2016.
In the year 2019, Film Companion rated Khan’s performance among the 100 best in Indian movies for the past 10 years.
PK Hindi Movie 2014 Songs Collection
The soundtrack is written by Shantanu Moitra, Ajay–Atul and Ankit Tiwari with lyrics composed by Swanand Kirkire, Amitabh Varma, and Manoj Muntashir. The song “Tharki Chokro” is the first single, published on the date of 24 October 2014.
The video concentrates on Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt, with the song sung by Swaroop Khan and written by Ajay–Atul with lyrics composed by Swanand Kirkire.
The second single, “Love Is a Waste of Time”, which showed Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, was published on the date of 31 October 2014 on the YouTube platform.
The song is sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal and written by Shantanu Moitra with the lyrics of Amitabh Varma.
“Chaar Kadam” was published on 2 November 2014 on the T-Series YouTube channel. The song is sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal and written by Shantanu Moitra with lyrics by Swanand Kirkire. The full soundtrack was published on the date of 5 November 2014.
