Metacritic gave the movie with a score of 74 out of 100, Depending on 18 critics, mentioning”generally favorable” reviews.
Zinia Bandyopadhyay of India Today gave the movie 4.5 stars out of 5 stars and noted “This is an unquestionable must-watch for all fans of action and otherwise.”
Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com gave the movie 4 stars out of 5 stars and watched”An ultra-violent movie about violence, Kill’s most significant achievement isn’t its death count alone but to contest our perception of brutality”.
Bollywood Hungama rated the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote, “On the entirety, Kill is a violent and stylish action entertainer.” Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV rated the movie 3.5 stars out of 5 stars and expressed “Kill has a moral compass, a precise context for the ‘war’ that unfolds.”
Rishil Jogani of Pinkvilla rated the movie 3.5 stars out of 5 stars and noted “Kill as a movie could work even satisfactorily with a denser plot and a more threatening antagonist.”
Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express noted “‘Kill’ is a lean, mean killing machine.” Shilajit Mitra of The Hindu glorified Lakshya’s performance and said “Lakshya, laboriously hyped as Hindi cinema’s new ‘killing machine’, is sweaty, strong and seething. The young actor ignores the athleticism of a Tiger Shroff or Vidyut Jammwal, opting rather for a more centered, abrasive fighting style.”
Uday Bhatia of Mint marked”Kill isn’t a hell-yeah action movie. There’s no slo-mo, no release, no breathing room.”
Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in stated”The most impressive set in Kill lands it straight in horror territory.”
Kartik Bhardwaj of The New Indian Express gave the movie 4 stars out of 5 stars and noted “It weaves a history of its own. The fist fights and the flying kicks arrive first.” Kill made praise from international critics.
Kim Newman of the British Film Institute said “The first half isn’t just slower, but basic relationships have to be specified before the real action can begin.”
Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times gave the movie R and wrote “Manipulative to the max (one upsetting murder is pornographically protracted), “Kill” is dizzyingly unique and punishingly vicious.”
Catherine Bray of The Guardian said, “Kill’s objectives are accomplished with an energy and spirit that create it a tasty piece of action movie which doesn’t pull its effectiveness; it’s finger-cracking good.”
Kevin Maher of The Times followed “The plot is badly perfunctory, and sets a lethal “national security guard commando” anointed Amrit”.
Nate Richard of Collider gave the movie B+ and reported “Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s aggressively violent action flick is predestined to evolve as a cult classic.”
Peter Debruge of Variety noted, “As brutal a movie as the country has ever delivered, Kill is a shockingly graphic action showcase from an industry that generally plays violence in an additional cartoony register.”
Randy Myers of The Mercury News said “After a groan-inducing 15 minutes of exposition, “Kill” lets go of all that baggage to evolve as an outright shot while creating a compelling argument for Lakshya evolving our next big action star.”
Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter noticed “The fight scenes are incredibly well choreographed, filmed and edited, but they’re so severe in their non-stop pacing that the viewing experience evolves as numbing.”
David Ehrlich of IndieWire gave the movie B+ and said “Kill” makes very, very good on its goofy title by the moment all is said and done. Still, maybe the most incredible thing about Bhat’s action extravaganza is that it inverts anticipations without ever getting off-track.”
Shakyl Lambert of CGMagazine gave the movie 8.5 stars out of 10 stars and reported “Kill is one of the best action movies of the year, and action fans require to maintain this one on their radar.” Matt Donato of /Film gave the movie 9 stars out of 10 stars.
He even stated “No joyous Bollywood dance breaks— this isn’t RRR. Bhat’s sublimely savage Kill has more in common with take-no-prisoners Indonesian badassery like The Night Comes for Us or The Raid, highlighting breakneck brutality that sails like a gushing river of blood from gaping knife wounds.” Ross McIndoe of Slant Magazine gave the movie R and reported “The action is kinetic and chaotic as bodies are shipped bouncing off seats, windows, floors, and ceilings.”
Mack of Screen Anarchy noticed, “The violence is not fancy and complicated, but fast and harsh, with a survivor’s instinct at the fore.”
Barry Hertz of The Globe and Mail remarked”For its first half-hour, Kill’s fights are great if little pedestrian in their staging and speed.”
Jonathan Hickman of Newnan Times-Herald rated the movie 7 stars out of 10 stars and noted “By drawing much of the heavy firepower associated with guns, Bhat’s movies produce visceral, bone-crunching sequences that have a powerful impact despite their somewhat overblown nature.”
Critic Simon Abrams of RogerEbert.com rated a mixed review and reported “Kill tics off most of the essential boxes for a good popcorn flick, creating it straightforward to fight but harder to pass up.”
Reviewing for Time Out Phil de Semlyen rated the movie 3 stars out of 5 stars and noted “Credit to Bhat, too, for exiting with the tried-and-tested action movie template to give an unpredictable, nihilistic mid-movie twist. The issue is the sense of déjà vu that advances in thereafter.”
Lyvie Scott of Inverse awarded a mixed review “Though this movie has its action down pat, it does lack a sense of narrative variety.”
