Guntur Kaaram is an Indian Telugu-language action drama movie composed and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and made by S. Radha Krishna through Haarika & Hassine Creations released in 2024. This movie contains stars kike Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu.
The movie was officially revealed in May 2021 under the uncertain title SSMB28, as it is Mahesh’s 28th movie in the leading role, and the official title was revealed later in May 2023. Principal photography began in September 2022, mainly recorded in Hyderabad, and completed by late December 2023. The movie’s score and soundtrack are written by Thaman S, with cinematography directed by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing managed by Naveen Nooli.
Guntur Kaaram was published in theatres worldwide on the date of 12 January 2024, overlapping with Sankranti. The movie obtained negative reviews from critics for Trivikram’s direction, screenplay, plot, and Thaman’s background score and soundtrack but Mahesh Babu’s performance was applauded.

Guntur Kaaram Hindi Dubbed Movie 2024 Plot
Follows Guntur Karam, the king of the underworld of Guntur city, as he falls in love with a journalist operating to reveal the illegal activities in the city.
In the year 1998 in Guntur, Dokka Marx Babu and Lenin Babu, two of the greatest hooligans in the city, burned down Satyam’s Mirchi factory. Satyam, noticing this, approaches Marx and Lenin to ask them, while the factory is burning. In the process, Satyam’s brother-in-law, Rangam, accidentally murders Lenin, but Satyam accepts the responsibility for the murder and goes to jail for about 12 years.
However, his son, Ramana, partly loses his vision in his left eye, causing him blind during the outbreak of the factory. Soon afterward, noticing how Satyam headed to jail, his wife and Ramana’s mother, Vasundhara, chooses to go to Ramana and Satyam’s family and drive back with her politician father, Vyra Venkata Swamy, in Hyderabad, finally wedding a second time to his nephew and her cousin, Pakka Rajagopal Narayana.
After 25 years, Venkata Swamy pushes Vasundhara the Minister of Law from his political party, but encounters opposition from Kata Madhu, a subordinate and member of his political party, “Jana Dalam Party”, who intimidates to reveal the fact that Ramana is Vasundhara’s son.
To fight this, Venkata Swamy chooses to make Ramana autograph a document saying that he is not related to Vasundhra or the Vyra family, in return for which he will get money. Ramana denies doing so if he cannot see or speak to his mother.
There is a back-and-forth concerning Venkata Swamy’s lawyer, Basavaraju Sarangapaani “Paani”, his daughter, Amulya “Ammu” Malyada, and his deputy, Balasubramanyam “Balu”, attempting to get Ramana to autograph the document. Venkata Swamy, increasingly frustrated, chooses to keep Paani file a fake FIR against Ramana in Jubilee Hills, saying that he destroyed valuables in his house and shot his security guards to push him to sign the document.
Balu is sympathetic towards Ramana and conflicts with Paani by getting a bail order for Ramana. Ramana goes to Venkataswamy’s house in Hyderabad and recreates just what was noted in the FIR.
Vasundhara who listens and sees the commotion inside the house, encounters Ramana and hits him, which pushes him to sign the document. Back in Guntur, Kata Madhu attempts to bring Ramana to side with him and the faction of the politicians fighting Venkata Swamy and Vasundhara, but Ramana hits him.
However, Kata can rob his wallet and show to the media that he is Vasundhara’s son, authenticating a family photo as photographic evidence. Venkata Swamy noticing this attempts to get Ramana arrested again but fails to do so.
Satyam then shows to Ramana and his family that Vasundhara instantly wants to have Ramana’s eye worked on after the burning of their factory and fights with him, who believes saving Rangam is his foremost priority. She also liked to carry Ramana with her back to Venkata Swamy’s house, but Bujji, Satyam’s sister and her sister-in-law, closed the doors of the home on her, as per Satyam’s demands.
During the difficulty of Lenin’s murder, in the court, Vasundhara challenged Bujji about Ramana’s eye, to which, she informed her that his eye would never regress to normality. An angry Vasundhara vowed that Satyam murdered Lenin, rather of Rangam. Ramana, understanding of this, becomes depressed. “Gelatin” Babji, a blind contract killer, and his guys kidnap him and Balu to murder them.
Babji indicates to them that it was Venkata Swamy who offered him the contract to murder him, but upon encountering him, It is shown that Pakka Rajagopal Narayana, Vasundhara’s second husband, hired Babji and his men to destroy Ramana, under Venkata Swamy’s “orders”. Elsewhere, Vasundhara is smashed by a lorry and is hospitalized. Ramana hurries to witness how she is; Venkata Swamy shows to him that Hari Das, a rowdy, and Kata Madhu prepared to kill Vasundhara under the impression of the accident.
He persuades Ramana to murder them to confirm that he is Vasundhara’s son. In the process, he even demonstrates to Paani that he directed the attack on Satyam’s factory in 1998 to bring his daughter back, as he failed the elections then due to Vasundhara’s wedding to Satyam, who was from another caste.
When Ramana proceeds to murder Hari Das, he discloses that he never intended the murder with Kata and it is shown that Venkata Swamy directed everything. At the possibility of creating Raja Gopal, Vasundhara’s second son with Narayana, an MP, Narayana even reveals to Venkata Swamy that Gopal is not Vasundhara’s son, but was just assumed by her to fool her father so that Ramana can be protected from harm.
Even though they are wedded, they never consummate it and sleep individually in their bedroom. When Ramana remembers of this, he evolves as outraged at Venkata Swamy, but Vasundhara prevents him and they both go back to Guntur, along with Balu and Ammu, where she reunites with Satyam and Bujji. In the end recognition scene, a desperate Venkata Swamy unsuccessfully considers with Narayana about employing Ramana to convey him into the political party.

Critical Reception
The Hindi dubbed version of Guntur Kaaram got many mixed reviews from critics. Some applauded the performances of the lead actors and the director’s vision, while others blamed the movie’s pacing and predictability.

The Hindu: “Guntur Kaaram is a modern action thriller with a predictable plot. Mahesh Babu produces a powerful performance, but the movie is let down by its bland screenplay and lack of originality.”
Deccan Chronicle: “Guntur Kaaram is a masala movie that is high on action and entertainment. The movie’s first half is gripping, but the second half carries a bit. Overall, Guntur Kaaram is a time-pass movie that can be overlooked once.”
In General, the Hindi dubbed version of Guntur Kaaram acquired a mixed response from critics. The movie’s powers include the performances of the lead actors and the director’s vision, while its disadvantages include its pacing and predictability.

Thaman S. composed the soundtrack album and background score for the movie, this is his fifth collaboration with Mahesh after movies like Dookudu (2011), Businessman (2012), Aagadu (2014), and Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022); his third collaboration with Trivikram after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020).
Thaman began work on the movie’s music in the date of June 2022. The first single “Dum Masala” was published on 7 November 2023. The second single “Oh My Baby” was published on the date of 13 December 2023.
