Bhaiyaa Ji is an Indian Hindi-language action thriller movie that was released in 2024 and composed by Apoorv Singh Karki, who co-wrote it with Deepak Kingrani.
It includes actors like Manoj Bajpayee in the titular role, reuniting with Karki after the legal drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (2023).
Bhaiyya Ji Hindi Movie 2024 Plot
Following the tragic death of his younger brother during a small fight, Bhaiyya Ji (Manoj Bajpayee), a retired and feared criminal, embarks on a quest for fairness against the influential Gujjar who is accountable.
He gathers his loyal associates and sparks a movement of revenge that poses a danger to the whole criminal world.
Critical Reception
News 18 gave this movie a rating of 3 out of 5 complimenting Manoj Bajpayee’s performance. Jansatta too in its review praised Bajapyee and gave the movie 3 out of 5 stars.
News 24 even kept a watch rating on the film, raving about Bajpayee’s acting while even complimenting Zoya Hussain and Surendra Vicky. It noted, “Manoj Bajpayee excels in this part, conveying realism to the character with his desi swag and serving totally into the action scenes, despite being 55.”
A critic for Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 2.5 stars out of 5 stars and noted”Bhaiyya Ji rests on a proper first half and Manoj Bajpayee’s sloppy performance, but the movie fails to success.”
Multiple other critics were not as warm towards the movie. On the review aggregator blog Rotten Tomatoes, 0% of 5 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5 out of 10.
Anuj Kumar of The Hindu commented, “After spelling out the belief, the narrative takes a predictable form.” Shalini Langer of The Indian Express said: “There is a glimmer of expectancy that Karki is presenting a Bihari sub-network that operates through cities such as Delhi that people like us see and not see – and that this could be Bhaiyya Ji’s greatest power.”
Deepa Gahlot of Rediff.com gave the movie 2 out of 5 stars and mentioned “A movie with a one-line plot required a lot more pizzazz, whistle-worthy dialogue, and a larger-than-life, unstoppable protagonist. Karki produces a Rajinikanth kind of actioner (Bhaiyya Ji fights with a bidi in his mouth) but with a naturalistic soul, and drops between two boats.”
Taher Ahmed for Deccan Herald gave the movie 2 stars out of 5 stars and mentioned “The actors playing antagonists do carry their own. But the direction fails to impress, and the action scenes are run of the mill.”
Abhimanyu Mathur for Daily News and Analysis glorified Bajpayee’s work and commented”He is in Rajinikanth and Balakrishna parts here, playing an aging but strong hero. And the actor reveals just why he is the most skillful actor of his generation.”
Amit Bhatia of ABP News think”‘Bhaiyya Ji’ feels like a movie that would have been amazing 20 to 25 years ago. In today’s era of naturalistic cinema, it arrives across as dated.”
Kartik Bhardwaj of Cinema Express rated the movie 2 stars out of 5 to the film and noted “Most of Bhaiyya Ji is all bark and no-bite.”
Pragati Awasthi of WION even provided a negative review and reported”Keep your brain in snooze mode while observing this, as you won’t be required to utilize much of it. With everything incredible happening on screen, this type of film needs a brain shutdown.”
Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in reported “Bhaiyya Ji has many characters and scenes that likewise go nowhere.”

Manoj Tiwari, and Deepak Thakur write the songs of the movie, and the lyrics are composed by Dr. Sagar. The first single titled “Baagh Ka Kareja” was published on the date of 24 April 2024. The second single titled “Chakka Jaam” was published on the date of 24 May 2024.
