Bad Newz is an Indian Hindi-language comedy movie directed by Anand Tiwari.
This movie was produced by Amazon Prime, Dharma Productions, and Leo Media Collective, the movie is motivated by a true occasion, including the famous stars like Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk.
It is a spiritual sequel to Good Newwz (2019) and circles about heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive approach in which twin children are born to the same mother, but from two biological fathers.
The principal photography of this movie took place from the date of March 2022 to July 2023. Bad Newz was theatrically published after multiple date changes and other holds on 19 July 2024.
Bad Newz Hindi Movie 2024 Plot
Saloni Bagga is a cook who desires her restaurant to win the Meraki Star. She encounters Akhil Chadha and they hit it off instantly and get matched shortly. However, soon difficulties appear in their marriage, one of which causes her restaurant to lose its Meraki star and thereafter gets her fired. As a consequence of these situations, the couple chose to get divorced.
Saloni then migrates to Mussoorie to work at a restaurant run by Gurbir Singh Pannu. After a chain of occasions, a drunk Saloni ends up having a one-night stand with Gurbir. That same nighttime, Akhil shows up at her room, enjoying her back and they end up having a one-night stand as well.
As a consequence of these encounters, Saloni gets pregnant. After accomplishing a paternity test to decide the baby’s father, she discovers that she is pregnant with twins. To make cases more threatening, she is told by her doctor that as a consequence of a very rare wonder called heteropaternal superfecundation, the twins have two separate fathers.
This outcome in a chain of events where both men attempt to demonstrate that one of them is a better partner and father than the other. During one such occasion, Saloni faints due to tension. She is revealed to the hospital and the doctor tells her that Gurbir’s baby isn’t growing well but Akhil’s baby is growing normally and staying longer to deliver the twins will cause Gurbir’s baby to not survive. In these cases, Akhil makes a selfless conclusion to bring forward the delivery of the babies since that would give both the babies a possibility to survive.
Luckily the delivery pushes well and Saloni delivers two healthy newborns and is fine herself. Post delivery when she is told of the selfless decision Alkhil made, she is touched. She requests Akhil to marry her again, which he accepts; and Gurbir returns with his ex-girlfriend. In the last, the two couples choose to grow the babies together; and after some period Saloni’s restaurant even manages to get a Meraki star.
Critical Reception
On the review aggregator blog Rotten Tomatoes, 30% of 10 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.3 out of 10.
Bollywood Hungama rated the movie 4 out of 5 and noted, “On the entirety, Bad Newz is a fun-filled entertainer.”
Dhaval Roy of The Times of India gave the movie 3.5 stars out of 5 and reported “With a laughable premise and two comic men, this one’s a laugh scream. Even when the plot takes a friendly turn and stretches, the witty dialogues and spot-on comedic timing from the cast secure you’re always entertained.”
Rishil Jogani of Pinkvilla rated the movie 3 out of 5 stars and noted “Bad Newz is a straight fun entertainer with possibility that’s left untapped. The idea of the movie had much more scope for a deeper and broader messaging but it gets lowered to a film you see for a few giggles and jokes, before getting on with your life.”
Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com rated the movie 2.5 out of 5 stars and pointed “Pretty frames, gorgeously styled actors, efficiently resolved difficult issues, Bad Newz has no wish to increase above its fluff purposes.”
Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express gave the movie 2.5 out of 5 stars and noted “If Bad Newz had attached to its comedic guns, without resorting to the weepy saccharine bits which take over in the second half, it would have been gold.”
Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV gave the movie 2 out of 5 stars, saying “It is the lack of real crackle in the average, single-note confection that Bad Newz is that does the movie in.”

The songs of the movie are written by Rochak Kohli, Vishal Mishra, Lijo George-DJ Chetas, Prem-Hardeep, Karan Aujla, and Abhijeet Srivastava while the background score is written by Amar Mohile. The first single titled “Tauba Tauba” was published on the date of 2 July 2024. The second single titled “Jaanam” was published on the date of 9 July 2024.
The third single titled “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam” was a remix of the original music from the 1998 movie, Duplicate (originally written by Anu Malik) and was published on the date of 14 July 2024.
